Christian Gonzenbach @ Hiflow, Geneva
Christian Gonzenbach is part of the group exhibition titled Hybridations Fertiles at Hiflow in Plan-les-Ouates - Geneva.
“Fertile Hybridizations” explores the multiple forms of encounters and intertwinings between humans, non-humans, knowledge and temporalities.
The visitor is invited to engage with the space, to question, to enter into a dialogue with these artists, researchers and designers, and to attempt, like them, to engage with the living world by moving beyond anthropocentrism — the idea that human beings are at the center of everything — to recognize in other species a form of intelligence and agency, and to reconnect with them through meaningful relationships.
“Herein lies the paradox: to contribute to a future that ensures the well-being of humans, we must transform our philosophical anthropology in a direction where we no longer primarily identify ourselves as human beings. For the good of humans, since this is clearly a central issue in the crises to come, we must first think of ourselves as living beings.”
